Common questions

Mulch questions, answered.

How much mulch do I need?

One cubic yard covers about 108 square feet at 3 inches deep (162 sq ft at 2 inches). Measure the bed length and width, then use the mulch calculator or call 609-268-6222 and we will do the math with you.

How deep should mulch be?

Two to three inches is the sweet spot. Deeper than that can hold too much moisture against plants; thinner lets weeds through. Keep it a few inches back from tree trunks and house siding.

Dyed or natural?

Dyed mulch (red, brown, black) keeps its color for the season and gives beds a finished look. Natural root mulch, playground mulch, and woodchips are undyed and better for natural areas, play spaces, and paths.

Do you deliver mulch?

Yes, with a three-yard minimum. We deliver across Tabernacle, Medford, Shamong, Southampton, and surrounding South Jersey towns with our own trucks. See delivery options or call 609-268-6222.

Can I pick up a small amount?

Absolutely. Bring a pickup, a trailer, or even a few containers. There is no minimum for pickup at the Route 206 yard.

Is bulk mulch cheaper than bags?

Usually, yes. One cubic yard equals about 13.5 two-cubic-foot bags, and bulk is loaded straight into your truck or trailer with no bags to haul or throw away.
